-
- This is the demo version of our MOVIE program.
- It requires any IBM CGA, EGA or VGA card to run.
- Requires SIMCGA to run on Hercules mono card.
-
- MOVIE will simulate video movement of real pictures
- on your screen. The pictures are run in variable speed
- and will give you the sense that an actual video picture
- is seen right on your computer.
-
-
-
-
- MOVIE.ARC contains four files:
-
- (1) MOVIE.EXE
- (2) CDEMO.MOV
- (3) DEMO.MOV
- (4) README.TXT
-
- MOVIE.EXE is the master program. To run MOVIE use the
- following command line syntax:
-
- MOVIE DEMO.MOV (will load the b&w movie)
- or
- MOVIE CDEMO.MOV (will load the color movie)
-
-
- You may also add a speed at the end of the command line.
- The speed of the movie is variable from 0 to 639. You may
- adjust the speed while in the program or add a speed (0-639)
- on the command line. Here is an example:
-
- MOVIE DEMO.MOV 500
-
- This would start the b&w demo at the speed of 500. The
- default speed is 485 (about 2/3 maximum).
-
- DEMO.MOV is a black and white CGA demo. The resolution is
- 640h X 200v. This demo shows Jim Maxey sitting, turning,
- smiling, then winking. The 7 frames are repeated until you
- type any key to stop. You may then change the speed. DEMO.MOV
- was the first movie animation completed.
-
- CDEMO.MOV is the same as DEMO.MOV in the way it is executed.
- The difference is the resolution. To get color we had to use
- mode 0 (320 X 200 with 4 colors). Also, the subject is different
- and more exciting (I admit). You will see actual pictures of the
- Saturn Launch booster dropping off and re-entering earths atmos-
- phere. You've seen this same shot before... but never on your
- computer! As with DEMO.MOV, you can change the speed of the
- movie. Run it faster than it actually happened or slow enough
- to study the detail. CDEMO.MOV has 4 times the amount of frames
- than DEMO.MOV so there is more to see, and as I said, much more
- exciting. CDEMO requires 512K memory.
-
- Before you ask, we have no EGA versions. The program would
- be too large. The pictures would be fantastic, especially in
- VGA format. EGA or VGA versions will have to wait. But MOVIE
- does run fine on EGA or VGA, it's just that the resolution
- remains CGA.
-
- MOVIE was written by Stan Weinstein, a programmer and an
- Attorney in Portland, Oregon (and a user of Event Horizons).
- The digitizing was done by myself. As you can see, Stan's work
- shines above mine. But if we can compile a "Strip Tease" MOVIE
- there certainly would be more interesting video. You might
- hang onto these files so you can use at least MOVIE.EXE to run
- future movies we make. Thanks to Stan Weinstein for an
- excellent job in writing MOVIE.
-
- MOVIE is self contained and easily understood after you start
- the program. You will see a copyright notice within the program.
- MOVIE.ARC is copyrighted software but you may distribute it
- freely as long as no part of the program is edited, revised or
- changed in any form. By all means, upload it to your favorite
- BBS. All files must remain within the ARC program. Please feel
- free to give us your comments and suggestions. Addresses and
- phone numbers are found within the program.
